Wounded Germans walk toward the rear area from where they will be sent by train back to Germany for treatment and recovery. Below: In Germany, soldiers now fully recovered from their battle wounds sing patriotic songs as they had back toward the Front to fight again.

Below: Also caught up in the patriotic spirit, a German boy from Brandenburg, who showed up on his horse wanting to volunteer for the Eastern Front.
